Jamie Craig Waddell

Jamie Craig Waddell, 63, of Horse Cave, passed away on August 6, 2025, at home surrounded by his loving family.

Craig was born on December 21, 1961, in Glasgow, Kentucky to JC “Bub” and Ruth (Nunn) Waddell. He graduated from Metcalfe County High School in 1979. In 1981, he married the love of his life, Sarah Lee Demumbrum, and together they raised three wonderful children: Laura, Creal, and Emily.

Craig continued his education at Freed‐Hardeman University, where he studied bible and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in 1987. He dedicated his life to serving in the Lord’s church, was a farmer and was a fixture in the community. Craig was the minister at the Center Church of Christ & also served as an elder there.

In his free time, Craig enjoyed fishing, going on mission trips, studying God’s Word, and most of all, spending time with his seven beloved grandchildren. Craig will be remembered for his sense of humor, his unwavering faith in the Lord, and his love for his family and community.

Craig is preceded in death by his father & mother. He leaves behind his wife of 44 years, Sarah, three children, Laura (Clint) Nieman, Creal (Jayme) Waddell, and Emily (Bryant) Carlton, seven grandchildren, Emma & Weston Nieman, Creighton & Jude Carter Waddell, Evelyn, Hudson, & Dixie Joann Carlton, two brothers, Carey (Lisa) Waddell, Clint (Ivy) Waddell, two sisters, Janey (Billy) Cline, Joni (Jason) Peden, and a host of nieces & nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, August 09, 2025, at Winn Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service at the Houk Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 08, 2025, from 4:30PM to 8:00PM, and will continue after 9:00AM on Saturday until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, Craig’s family requests your help with building a well in an impoverished country in his name.
