For the first time in recent Glasgow Common Council history, a primary was needed to shrink the field prior to the November general election.
Twenty-three candidates entered the primary election Tuesday, and 18 remain. Those 18 will be used to determine the final nine council members when voters return to the polls in November. The council race has a primary if there are double plus one candidates that have filed, Election Coordinator Ashton Harrison previously told Glasgow News 1.
The council race is non-partisan, which means any registered voter eligible to vote in city elections could vote in this race.
The 18 city council office seekers who made the cut are: (Unofficial vote counts)
