GRAYSON – On August 23, Kentucky State Police, Post 14 Ashland, received a report from Carter 911 regarding a sexual assault at Grayson Lake.
The victim, a female, was allegedly picked up in Ashland by Joshua Lewis, 38, who promised to drive her to Sandy Hook. Instead, Lewis diverted to a secluded area of Grayson Lake where he reportedly forced the victim out of the vehicle and sexually assaulted her.
Following the assault, the victim managed to reach an area with cell phone reception and contacted 911. Kentucky State Police detectives subsequently identified Lewis as the suspect after a thorough investigation.
On September 1, Lewis was arrested and charged with Rape 1st and Sodomy 1st. He is currently held at Carter County Jail.
