Clarence Austin Shirley, 83, of Glasgow, Kentucky, passed away Saturday,
October 9, 2021 at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. He was a son of the
late Hugh and Bernice Jessie Shirley. He was a retired veteran of the U. S.
Army.
He is survived by his four children: Debbie Lynne Heffner, Gary W. Riddle,
Jimmy A. Shirley (Kellie) and Timmy D. Shirley (Kimberly); nine
grandchildren: Michael Huus, Danielle Farquhar, Denise Hammann, Jimmy Austin
Shirley, III, Jessie Riddle, Gabriel Cleary Shirley, Courtney Riddle,
Sylvana Riddle and Justin Hester; seven great-grandchildren: Adriana Huus,
Eric Huus, Parker Huus, Josh Farquhar, Addie Farquhar, Kira Riddle and Lucy
Riddle; nine brothers and sisters, three sister-in-laws several nieces,
nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife: Naomi Ruth
Shirley; one son: John F. Riddle, Jr.; one daughter: Darla Faye Shirley
Hester; one son-in-law: William “Bill” Heffner; one grandson: Houston
Riddle.
Funeral will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at the Hatcher and
Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens with
Glasgow Chapter 20 DAV providing military honors. Visitation will be from
5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday and after 8:00 a.m. Tuesday until time for
services at the funeral home.
