Gerald Patrick “Pat” Lakin, died September 27, 2025. Pat was born and raised in Glasgow. He joined the Marines, then the Army to become a paratrooper, and completed his national service in the National Guard. He took a 35-year hiatus to Utah for work with The Green River Rifle Works. After the GRRW closed, he worked for the Utah Wildlife Department in a trout hatchery surrounded by Indian land. After retirement, he moved back to Glasgow for the remainder of his life.
Pat greatly enjoyed shooting black powder and the enjoyment of reenactments; Scuba diving; hunting; fishing; Rover Scouts; summer work at The Reptile Garden in Cave City; EMT and Mountain Rescue; first 24-foot tipi at Friendship; brewing beer; shooting marvelous 4th of July fireworks; and a whole lot more. The highlight was an African safari, which was a favorite memory.
He is survived by a brother, Larry Lakin.
His ashes will be buried in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery at 1PM on January 10, 2026. Reverend Wayne Hensley will officiate the service. All friends are invited.
