Ronald Lee Coates, age 76, of Park City, peacefully departed this life on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at The Medical Center at Bowling Green. A native of Edmonson County, Ronald was born on July 2, 1950, to the late Robert and Lottie Nash Coates.
Ronald dedicated many years of his life to the trucking industry, working as a driver for Walbert Trucking and Elmiza L. Trucking. He was a hardworking man who found his greatest contentment in the simple pleasures of life. Whether tending to his farm, caring for his beautiful flower gardens, or spending peaceful moments surrounded by God’s creation, Ronald appreciated the beauty and tranquility of the outdoors. He was a man who valued quiet moments, a strong work ethic, and the blessings found in everyday life. He was a member of Fairview General Baptist Church and attended Liberty Hill “Dripping Springs” Missionary Baptist Church, where he found comfort and fellowship in his faith.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved daughter, Sonya Anitra Nussbaum (Joseph) of Woodstock, Georgia; his siblings, Donald Coates (Kathy) of Park City, Francis Ashley of Horse Cave, Mary Cutliff of Shelbyville, Tennessee, Linda Draper of Huntsville, Alabama, and Patricia Tomes (Stephen) of Park City; as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many friends who will fondly remember his gentle spirit and quiet way of life.
In keeping with Ronald’s caring heart, memorial contributions may be made to the local Salvation Army to assist those in need.
