Country music and community service will take center stage this weekend as the Kiwanis Club of Glasgow hosts a fundraiser concert featuring Kentucky singer-songwriter Marty Brown and his son, Christian Brown, with proceeds benefiting local youth scholarships and programs.

The concert is scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday, June 13, at the Plaza Theatre in downtown Glasgow. Tickets are $35 and remain available for purchase. Net proceeds from the event will support youth scholarships and other investments in local children and students through the club’s ongoing community initiatives.

Chartered in 1967, the Kiwanis Club of Glasgow focuses on improving the lives of children through service projects, educational initiatives and community support. Locally, the organization sponsors scholarships, supports youth organizations and contributes to a variety of programs throughout Barren County.

“Marty Brown is the kind of performer who connects with audiences through both his music and his storytelling,” said Kiwanis member Tara Bailey. “Not only will attendees get to enjoy a great night of entertainment, but they’ll also be helping us continue investing in the young people of our community.”

Brown, a native of western Kentucky, first gained national attention in the early 1990s after signing with MCA Records. Over the course of his career, he has released multiple albums and earned a reputation as a traditional country artist and accomplished songwriter. He is perhaps best known for co-writing Tracy Byrd’s hit song “I’m From the Country” and for his run on America’s Got Talent, where his style and original music introduced him to a new generation of fans. Brown is also a member of the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame.

Joining him on stage will be his son, Christian Brown, an emerging artist who recently gained national attention through an appearance on American Idol. During his audition, Christian performed his father’s song “Wildest Dreams,” earning praise from judges for both his vocal ability and stage presence.

Concertgoers can expect an evening rooted in traditional country music, featuring original songs, familiar stories from the Browns’ musical journey and the family chemistry that has become a hallmark of their performances. The father-son duo has increasingly shared the stage in recent years, blending classic country influences with a newer generation of performers.

Bailey said the fundraiser reflects the mission of Kiwanis to serve children while bringing the community together.

With tickets still available, organizers encourage community members to purchase in advance and help support an event that pairs live entertainment with a meaningful local cause. Tickets can be purchased online or in person at the Plaza Theatre.
