Christy Rita Mason, 50, Smiths Grove, passed away Sunday, May 31, 2026 at the University of Louisville Hospital. A native of Barren County, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Linda Combs.
Christy was a homemaker who loved being a mother and grandmother. She was a very outgoing person who never met a stranger; if she did, she would be talking with them in a short while. She loved horses and being outside where you would find her either piddling around or maybe building something. She was saved at the Mt. Tabor Baptist Church and was baptized in a creek, after which she joined the church at Mt. Tabor.
Survivors include her husband Gilbert Mason; three children: Brandon Newton (Sabrina), Dalton Newton (Whitney), and Dallas Lindsey (Trenton Goodroe); five grandchildren: Bentley, Presley, Jaxson, Emma, and Mason; one sister, Angie Branham; one brother, Eric Childers; and several nieces and nephews including Jessica Reynolds. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one grandchild, Levi; and one brother, Jason Combs.
The family chose cremation with a memorial service to be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home.
