The Glasgow Rotary Club has announced three local high school seniors as recipients of its 2026 scholarships, honoring their academic achievement, leadership and dedication to community service.

Barren County High School senior Addyson McFall has been named the winner of the Dr. Juanita Bayless Memorial Scholarship. McFall plans to attend WKU-Glasgow to pursue a degree in elementary education, according to a press release from the club. She was accepted into the WKU Early College Program, has completed several Advanced Placement and dual-credit courses, and already holds certifications in accounting and business management. McFall is also active in athletics and student organizations, including the Barren County tennis team, where she has been an all-region player from 2022 through 2025, as well as the basketball team, FBLA and Pep Club.

The Dr. Juanita Bayless Memorial Scholarship is awarded annually to a student enrolling at either WKU-Glasgow or SKYCTC. It was established in 2011 to honor the life and service of Dr. Bayless, a past president of the Glasgow Rotary Club and Paul Harris Fellow, for her dedication to WKU-Glasgow and advocacy for communities traditionally underserved by postsecondary education.

Lauren Gatewood

Fellow Barren County senior Lauren Gatewood is the recipient of the Barren County High School Rotary Scholarship. Gatewood plans to attend the University of Kentucky to major in pharmaceutical science with a minor in business, according to the release. She is an alumna of the Governor’s Scholars Program, having attended at Murray State University, and is expected to graduate from the Barren County Magnet Honors Program as an AP Scholar with Distinction. Gatewood is also active in multiple organizations, including HOSA, Beta Club, FCA and FBLA.

Caroline Bishop

Glasgow High School senior Caroline Bishop has been named the winner of the Glasgow High School Rotary Scholarship. Bishop plans to attend the University of Louisville to major in biomedical sciences with a minor in chemistry, according to the release. She is an AP Scholar with Distinction and a finalist in the National Merit Scholarship Program. Bishop participates in HOSA and the Gifted and Talented Program and attended the Governor’s Scholars Program at Morehead State University.

The two school-based scholarships have been awarded for more than 20 years to one graduating senior from each local high school, the release stated. Recipients are selected through a competitive application process that weighs academic excellence, extracurricular involvement, leadership and service, reflecting Rotary’s motto of “Service Above Self.”

“Each of these students represents the very best of our community,” said Jamie McFarlin, President of the Glasgow Rotary Club. “Their commitment to service and leadership gives us great confidence in the future and we are honored to be a part of their continued educational journey.”

The scholarships are funded through the Rotary’s annual fall auction, made possible by local donors, and that the 2026 auction is scheduled for November. Scholarship presentations are set to take place at the club’s April 23 lunch meeting.
