GLASGOW — More details have surfaced surrounding the arrest of a woman at a massage spa seized by police earlier this week.

An undercover detective entered Summer Spa, which is located along S.L. Rogers Wells Boulevard near an Italian restaurant and nail salon. The detective was greeted by Jing J. Zheng, 32, and asked if he wanted a massage.

Detective Guy Turcotte wrote in a citation narrative that an undercover detective was led to a room to receive a massage. Zheng apparently demanded $60 up front before the service, police said. She then pointed to the detective’s genitals and asked “you want this?” while she “pumped her fist in an up and down motion quickly.” He was asked twice before he declined the service and left the area.

Glasgow Police and the FBI served two search warrants on the property after that. They located $22,000 cash. Zheng, Yamei Shi and a nude white man were secured by authorities, police said.

Authorities said two other incidents were recorded where staff at Summer Spa offered sexual services in exchange for money. An undercover officer was offered similar sexual services on Jan. 22 and Feb. 10. All three incidents were captured on concealable recording devices, a citation said.

Zheng was charged with promoting prostitution and practicing massage therapy without a license. She admitted she did not have a Kentucky license after a translator with Western Kentucky University clarified her rights and asked the questions for police.

Authorities alleged human trafficking activity has happened at Summer Spa, too. Someone is guilty of human trafficking when they subject one or more people to complete labor or services, or when they subject someone to engage in commercial sexual activity through the use of force, fraud or coercion, according to state law.

No one was initially charged with human trafficking. Police said other arrests are “possible.”

Zheng was released from custody Friday on a $5,000 cash bond. She’s expected to be in Barren District Court on May 5 at 8:30 a.m.
