Olene Bunch Hume Follis entered into heaven March 29, 2022, at the age of 93. She was born August 24, 1928, to the late Gertrude Sharp Bunch and the late Joe Blakey Bunch in Glasgow, KY.
Mrs. Follis served the Barren County PVA for a total of 40 years both as a deputy and as the duly elected administrator, having been elected for 4 terms. She was a member of the Glasgow Baptist Church and the Fidelis Sunday School class. Mrs. Follis was active in various civic organizations; she was a past president of the B&PW club, a member of Altrusa Club, Glasgow Garden Club, Democratic Women’s Club, TJ Samsonites, and the Ladies Matinee Musicale group. She served as a volunteer at the South-Central Cultural Center and also served as secretary for the Glasgow Airport Board for a number of years.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Horace W. Hume Jr., her second husband Robert S. Follis and her brother Elroy Bunch.
Survivors include her daughter Jolene Hume Lyons (James) Bowling Green, KY, grandchildren Matthew Jordan Lyons (Cheryl) Bowling Green, KY, Jeffrey Hume Lyons (Jordan) Spring Hill, TN, Ashley Ann Lyons Oaks (Mikey) Hendersonville, TN. Great Grandchildren include Addison Oaks, Knoxville, TN, Abigail Oaks, Brayden Oaks and Kelby Oaks of Hendersonville, TN. Charlotte, and Harrison Lyons, of SpringHill TN, Reese and Avery Lyons of Bowing Green, KY. Survivors also include niece Brenda Buffin (Jim) and nephew Stephen Bunch (Joy).
Expressions of sympathy may be sent to Hospice House of Southern KY, Shriners Hospital, Lexington, KY, or the Glasgow Baptist Church.
Funeral service will be 2:00pm Friday, April 1st at the A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery.
