A graphic released Thursday by the National Weather Service shows the potential impact for rain and thunderstorms across the Commonwealth Friday evening and Saturday.

LOUISVILLE Ky. — The National Weather Service has issued a severe weather outlook and excessive rainfall outlook for New Year’s Eve thru New Year’s Day.
The statement was issued Thursday afternoon in a Facebook post. Most of Kentucky is forecasted to expect rain and severe weather of some sort. The southcentral region – including Glasgow – was included in the statement.
“Expect some breaks in rains during that period, but any storms will be able to produce very heavy rainfall and quick flood conditions,” according to the post.
Localized flooding concerns were also listed in the outlook as well as isolated damaging winds and isolated tornadoes.
