Barren County gave up eight runs in the fourth inning in their first game in Florida and eventually lost to Madison Central, 11-5.
The Trojans and the Indians were tied 2-2 headed into the bottom of the fourth when Madison Central drove in eight runs. The Indians got hot at the plate and hit three consecutive doubles to take control of the game.
Barren scored three runs in the top of the fifth to cut the lead in half, but got no closer.
In the fifth, Price Thompson drew a walk to lead off. Mason Mabrey entered to run for Thompson before Colten Wilson nailed a single. Cash McGuire next drew a walk to load the bases.
Jax Vincent came to the plate and Mabrey scored during his at-bat on a catcher error. Wilson and McGuire each moved up a base on the play.
Wilson and McGuire later scored on a ground out by Jordan Harris to cut the lead to 10-5.
Vincent, Wilson, Gavin Coffey and Jaxon Pierce each had a hit in the game for Barren.
Cameron Crawford, Landon Uhles and Malachi Pendleton each saw time on the mound. They allowed eight hits and walked five.
