Mary Jane Anderson, 89 of Smiths Grove passed peacefully on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at Skyline Medical Center, surrounded by her family.
The Edmonson County native was the daughter of the late Hurl and Pearl Stice Minyard. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Leland Anderson. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Norma Jean Minyard and Lavana Duff; three brothers, Charles Minyard, Nelson Minyard, and Ed Minyard. Mary Jane was employed by the Warren County Board of Education as a cafeteria worker and was a homemaker. She was a member of New Grove Baptist Church. She loved to quilt, work in her flowers, and bake.
She is survived by two sons, Dwight Anderson and Steve Anderson (Melissa), three grandchildren, Travis, Kaylyn, and Ashley Anderson; one great-grandson, Finn London; two sisters, Diane Tarter (Ervin) and Sue Neighbors; and two brothers, Kenneth Minyard (Kathy) and Johnny Minyard (Loretta); several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Smiths Grove Chapel with burial in Smiths Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
