At a brief special called meeting Wednesday lasting only a few minutes, the Park City Commission approved two routine administrative items following recent changes in city leadership.
Donna Scavo announced that the city would remove former commissioner Mike Burgess from Park City’s bank accounts and add commissioner Gary Carroll in his place. The change follows the swearing in of two new commissioners earlier this month and Carroll’s appointment as mayor pro tem.
Because Carroll is now authorized to help conduct city business, his name needed to be added to the city’s financial accounts to allow for check signing and other banking responsibilities.
“We got that finished up today,” said Scavo. “So we should be able to sign by tomorrow.”
The commission also addressed its lone remaining agenda item by reappointing Maria Westcott as Park City’s representative on the Joint City-County Planning Commission.
The planning commission consists of 13 members representing Barren County and its municipalities. Under the current structure, Park City holds one seat, Cave City holds two, while Glasgow and Barren County each hold five.
With little discussion, commissioners voted to keep Westcott in the role, where she has served as the city’s representative for several years.
