Cleo Adwell, age 102, of Park City, peacefully departed this life on Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at Signature HealthCare of Hart County. The Hart County native was born on May 27, 1923 to the late Charlie D. and Ethel Toohey Adwell.
Cleo lived a rich and purposeful life, grounded in hard work and quiet devotion. He lovingly tended the land, rising with the sun each day to labor as a dedicated farmer. One tranquil afternoon, as he stepped out of his barn, he experienced a profound moment of grace—kneeling beside a solitary thistle in the middle of the field, he found the sweet and abiding peace of knowing the Lord. This sacred encounter marked a turning point in his life. Soon after, he became a member of Little Bethel Baptist Church, a humble and welcoming place of worship that came to hold a special place in his heart.
He leaves to honor his memory his four nephews, James Garrett (Linda) of Glasgow, David Garrett (Sherry) of Park City, Jeff Adwell (Agnes) and Steve Adwell (Tammy) all of Michigan, several great and great-great nieces and nephews that he loved as his own.
Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by his twin brother, Leo Adwell, and other beloved siblings, Harlan Adwell and Christine Garrett.
Funeral services for Cleo Adwell will be held at 11AM Saturday, October 25, 2025 at Patton Funeral Home Park City Chapel with interment in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation from 4—7 PM, Friday, October 24, 2025 and 9—11 AM, Saturday, October 25, 2025 at Patton Funeral Home Park City Chapel.
