GLASGOW — A burn ban in Barren County has been lifted.
The ban was instated on Oct. 5 amid dry conditions across the area. Many counties across southcentral Kentucky declared similar bans in early October.
Periods of rain moved through the area last week and Sunday. Those appear to have improved conditions, which led to the recision of the order. The Kentucky Wildlife Hazard Season remains active, however. It lasts through Dec. 15 and places limited restrictions on burning.
The hazard season prohibits burning within 150 feet of any woodland or brushland from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., except when the ground is covered in snow.
