Roy William Buchanan, 85, of Glasgow, Kentucky, passed away Friday, June 26, 2026 at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. He was born April 12, 1941 to the late William Keith Buchanan and Eva Anna Hurt Buchanan. He was a retired Southern States gas truck drive, and he loved to farm.
He is survived by his wife: Joyce Ann Buchanan; four children: Stan Buchanan (Teresa), Steven Buchanan (Elizabeth), Laura Wilson (Randy) and Donna Buchanan; one step-daughter Tricia Schroeder (Bryan); two brothers: Don Buchanan (Elizabeth) and Ron Buchanan; three sisters: Rosemary Lancaster, Brenda Combs (Jeff) and Beth Ann Spencer (Rodney); nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one brother: David Buchanan; one sister: Patty Lancaster.
Funeral will be 1:00 pm Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Deweese Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 pm Monday and after 9:00 am Tuesday until services. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Coral Hill Baptist Church or the Boys and Girls club in Glasgow, Kentucky.
