Beverly J. Hogan, age 90 years young, of Horse Cave, passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at U of L – Jewish Hospital in Louisville. She was a devout Catholic, and faithful member of Our Lady of the Caves Catholic Church. Beverly was a caregiver her entire life and retired as a CNA from Glasgow State Nursing Facility, where she had many friends and fond memories. She loved spending time with her family, enjoyed birdwatching, and will be remembered for her humor, strength, and wit.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, Owen Hogan; her parents, Raymond Wesley Pirtle, and Gertie Beaulin Pinkston Pirtle; three daughters, Sherry Jones, Helen Lovett, and Joann Curry; three sons, Irvin “Freddy” Jones, Charles “Bobby” Hogan, and Lester “Al” Hogan; one grandson David Carter; two sisters, Sandy and Joann. She is survived by seven children, Deborah Broner, Louis Hogan, Owen “Booger” Hogan, Joe Hogan (Catherine), Jackie Hogan, Angela Childress (Anthony), and Sandy Hogan; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; all were the light of her life.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00AM, on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at Our Lady of the Caves Catholic Church. Burial will follow the service at the Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 15, 2026, at Winn Funeral Home, from 11:00AM to 8:00PM, with a Rosary Service beginning at 7:00PM. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at Our Lady of the Caves Catholic Church, from 8:00AM until the time of the service at 11:00AM. Arrangements are under the direction of Winn Funeral Home.
