Jimmy Dewayne Dennis, 59, of Munfordville, passed away Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Barren County Nursing and Rehab. Jimmy was a native of Hart County and a member of Concord Baptist Church. He was saved as a young boy at a prayer meeting held at a family member’s house. Jimmy was born on April 22, 1967; he loved the outdoors, nature, and the earth, so it is fitting that he was born on Earth Day. He was a man of many talents. Jimmy taught math, vocational, and alternative school in Hart and the surrounding counties. Jimmy owned and operated A1 Construction Company, where he built custom homes for seven years. He loved music and playing guitar. Horses were another passion of Jimmy’s; he loved trail riding with his friends and family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James Leonard Dennis and Mary Jean Bush, both of Munfordville; paternal grandparents, James and Virginia Dennis, of Bonnieville; maternal grandparents, Russell and Pauline Bush, of Munfordville.
He is survived by his four daughters, Kristin Dennis, Ann Marie Turley (Jacob), Mary-Kate Dennis, and Maggie Mae Dennis; two grandchildren, Wyatt and Rhett Turley; siblings, Tiffany Mires (Mike), Leonard Dale Martin, and Elizabeth Dennis, Natasha Bell Horsley, Abby LaRue, Ta’Na Ascensio Kimble; and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Winn Funeral Home at 6:30 PM on Wednesday, April 29, 2026. Visitation will be held at Winn Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 29, from 11:00 AM until 7:00 PM. Honoring Jimmy’s wishes, cremation will follow the services.
