Robert Lee Burkhead, 56 of Summer Shade, KY, passed away Friday, April 10, 2026, at his residence. He was born February 21, 1970, in Louisville, KY, to the late Robert Lee Burkhead and Patricia Moore Thomas, who survives. Besides his father, he was preceded in death by his grandfather, William Moore.
He was an avid rider of his Harley Davidson, finding freedom on the open road. In his leisure time, he often spent playing pool and having a good time with friends.
He is survived by his mother, Patricia Thomas, two daughters, Kaitlain Gomez (Mitchell Booth), and Ashley Glass (Brian), three grandchildren, Carter Booth, Elijah Booth, and Owen Glass, brothers Matthew Burkhead, Mark Burkhead, Luke Burkhead, Chris Walker, and Mike Mullins, sister Lori Voils (Bryon), and grandmother Martha Moore. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, Matthew Burkhead Jr, Garrett Corum, Jonathan Burkhead, Haylee Samuels, Hanna Thomas, Gavin McCoy, and Byron Voils II.
Funeral services for Robert Burkhead will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton, KY, with burial in the Summer Shade Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:30 AM until the time of the service here at the funeral home.
