Porter Brooks, age 94, of Bee Spring, KY, passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at his home surrounded by his family. He was saved in 1955 and was a faithful member of Jock United Baptist Church. He retired from Holley Carburetor in Bowling Green. He was a US Army Veteran during the Korean Conflict and a member of Washington Meredith Masonic Lodge #355 F&AM-Brownsville, KY.
He was the son of the late George Chatfield (Chat) Brooks and the late Ella Myrtle (Harp) Brooks.
He was preceded in death by an infant brother and sister, Lawrence & Florence Brooks, five brothers, Proctor, Virgil, Wren, Curtis, and Amos Brooks; four sisters, Stella Burba, Lestie Wilson, Rena Shreve, and Dona Vincent. One son-in-law, Tommy Stevenson.
He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Christine Brooks, Bee Spring, KY; his children, Patty (John) Brewer, Bowling Green, KY, Doug (Denise) Brooks, Horse Cave, KY, Jan (Tommy) Bolton, Brownsville, KY, Lisa Stevenson, Bee Spring, KY, Scott (Kelli) Brooks, Smiths Grove, KY. 11 Grandchildren, 17 Great-Grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family will welcome friends from 10:00 AM-8:00 PM CT on Monday, March 23, 2026, and again from 9:00 AM-11:00 AM CT on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at Jock United Baptist Church, Bee Spring, KY.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM CT on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at Jock United Baptist Church with Bro. Blake Newton officiating. Burial will follow with military honors in the Jock Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Brooks Funeral Home, Munfordville, KY.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Jock Cemetery.
