Glenda Fay Cosby, born August 18, 1946, in Glasgow, Kentucky. She spent her life rooted in Bowling Green, Kentucky—the place she proudly called home—where she passed on January 16, 2026 surrounded by the love she so freely gave to others.
Glenda was the very definition of sweetness. She carried a gentle spirit, a warm smile, and a laugh that came easily and often. To know her was to feel cared for. Her heart belonged to her family, and nothing brought her more joy than time spent with them. She was a mother who worried deeply, loved endlessly, and placed the needs of her children and grandchildren before her own without a second thought.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Veachel and Flossie Haynes; her brothers, William, Ricky, and Randall Haynes; and her cherished great-grandson, Bennett Matthew Bandy.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 43 years, Danny Cosby, with whom she shared a life defined by love and devotion. She was the proud and loving mother of three daughters: Penny Cole (Larry), Amanda Hunley (Brian), and Amber Nichols (Chris), all of Bowling Green. Glenda’s greatest treasures were her grandchildren—Matthew Cole (Felicia), Morgan Bandy (Wes), Teddy Nichols, Henry Nichols, Braxton Hunley, and Briggs Hunley—along with four great-grandchildren who brought her immeasurable joy.
Glenda is also survived by her sisters: Margaret Varney (Gary) of Franklin; Julie Inez London (Danny) of Edmonton; Gloria Kay Strain of Orlando, Florida; Betty Robinson (Mike) of Ashland, Virginia; and Teresa Parker of Dunedin, Florida; her brothers Eddie Haynes (Francis) of Corunna, Michigan, and Robert Haynes (Lisa) of Bowling Green; as well as numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved immensely.
For more than 40 years, Glenda was self-employed and the proud owner of Boone’s Upholstery.
She poured her heart and soul into her work, creating not only quality craftsmanship but meaningful relationships. Her customers were never simply customers; they were friends who often became like family. Glenda valued the simple blessings of life—thoughtful conversation, shared laughter, togetherness, and the comfort of being surrounded by loved ones. Over the years, she formed many lasting friendships and was deeply cherished for her kindness, loyalty, and gentle nature.
Above all, Glenda will be remembered for the way she made people feel—seen, valued, and loved. Her legacy lives on in her family, in the lessons she taught through her actions, and in the countless hearts she touched simply by being herself. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
A Celebration of Life will be Sunday, February 1, from 1 to 5p.m. at Highland Stables in Bowling Green. Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate Glenda’s beautiful life just as she would have wanted—simple, joyful, and filled with laughter.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Michael Byrne and the compassionate staff of Hospice of Southern Kentucky for their exceptional care and support.
