Robert Thomas Price died on September 8, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Pikeville, KY on June 22, 1944, he was the son of the late Thomas Garden Price, Jr. and Ruth Elswick Price. Robert was a 1963 graduate of Millersburg Military Institute and attended Morehead State University.

Robert’s life was a testament to his passions. A devout fan of UK football, he never missed a game and shared his love of the sport with all who knew him. Fishing trips and family gatherings were the highlights of his life, cherished moments that will live on in the hearts of those he loved -and the 50s music he treasured often set the soundtrack for these events. Robert was always ready with a smile and took great joy in life’s simple pleasures like his famous tomato gravy that comforted all who tasted it. Robert had a penchant for war movies, with “Band of Brothers” and “Masters of the Air” among his favorites. Because he was a veteran of storytelling himself, these tales of camaraderie and courage deeply resonated with him, as they reflected the values he lived by. Robert was preceded in death by his late parents and his step-son Michael Justice.

Robert leaves behind his loving wife, Dura Anne Price, with whom he shared decades of untold joy and unwavering partnership. He is survived by his daughter, Missy Heinz (Steve), and his step-sons, Joe Justice (Angela Gann), Jimmy Stewart (Julie) and Kevin Stewart (Angie); his sister, Elizabeth Price, and brother, Stephen Price (Rebecca); cousins James Harry Wilson (Carole), Janie Marlow (Paul), Jimmy Sword (Tammy), Johnny Walters (Newby), and Anne Walters. Along with his dear friends Mike and Trena Preston. His legacy includes 12 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews who inherit his strength, kindness and zest for life.

A celebration of life will be held at Christ Episcopal Church on Saturday, October 19th, at 1 p.m. All friends and family are invited to the imposition of ashes, share a meal, and celebrate Robert at the Moose Lodge afterward. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice, with acknowledgement to Dura Anne at 2712 Garrett Drive, Bowling Green, KY 42104.

Arrangements have been entrusted to J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel.
