GLASGOW — A woman charged with promoting prostitution pleaded guilty last week in district court.

Jing J. Zheng, 32, was arrested April 4 in connection to an investigation at Summer Spa. Police seized the salon and executed a search warrant that day. They discovered more than $22,000 in cash.

The investigation was initiated after police received complaints and tips about certain activities in the salon. The allegations alleged certain individuals had offered sexual services for compensation. An undercover detective was offered certain services during the investigation, which confirmed earlier allegations.

Zheng pleaded guilty to one count of promoting prostitution. One charge of practicing massage therapy without a license was dismissed. The cash authorities seized was forfeited to the court, according to a court document.

A source familiar with the situation said the court may award the money to the city of Glasgow, which could reinvest the money to the police department. Glasgow Police had not received an order as of Monday at 10 a.m.

Zheng was also ordered to complete psychotherapy. She will travel to California for the measure, a court official said.

A review of the case is scheduled Aug. 11 at 1 p.m. in Barren County. The court will review proof of the psychotherapy.
