Alma Katherine Hagan Strode, 88, of Tompkinsville, KY passed away Tuesday, September 10th, while in the company of family members, at Monroe County Medical Center.

Katherine was born in Monroe County, KY on February 24, 1925, a daughter of the late Nora (Page) and Erie  Hagan.

On June 7, 1951,  she married Ellsworth  Strode. They were united in marriage at the home of Wendell and Lorine Froedge by C. E. Carter.

Katherine was a member of Hagan's Grove Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great great grandmother. She loved cooking, having company, working in her garden, keeping her house, piecing quilts, and being a caregiver to many.

Katherine is  survived by  two daughters, Kathy Strode, of Tompkinsville, KY; Dianne Hogue of Scottsville, KY; and a son, R.V. and his wife, Sandy Strode, of Tompkinsville, KY; 7 grandchildren; Deanna Strode Taylor, Danetta Strode, Amanda Hogue Robertson, Valerie Poland Sweeny, Andrew Hogue, Bradley Poland, and Amy Susan Hogue. 9 great grandchildren, 1 sister, Chloe Bartley, of Tompkinsville, KY; several neices and nephews and a host of friends and loved ones.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years; Elder Ellsworth Strode, her parents; Erie and Nora Page Hagan, a son-in-law; Elder Paul Hogue, 4 brothers; Clifton, Robbie Odell, Dale and James Wendell, 4 sisters; Neva, Glaydell, Ruby and Sarah.

Funeral Services will be held at Yokley Trible Funeral Home at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, September 13th,  with John Ford officiating.

Visitation is Thursday after 1:00 P.M. and Friday 6:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M.  at Yokley Trible Funeral Home.  Burial is in Mt. Zion Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Mt. Zion Cemetery or Mud Lick Fire Department.
