GLASGOW, Ky. — A Glasgow man charged with murder was recently indicted during a convention of a Barren County grand jury.
Cody N. Bacon, 21, was arrested by the Glasgow Police Department Sept. 2 after he fatally shot two people near downtown Glasgow. He was indicted during an Oct. 27 on two counts of murder and first degree wanton endangerment.
David A. Pace, 24, and Brittany R. Pace, 22, of both of Glasgow, were shot to death at a home located at 310 N. Race St. Bacon apparently called 911 to report he had shot them to death.
Police arrived to find Bacon waving his arms on the sidewalk. He was ordered to drop to his knees while held at gunpoint. Police then detained him before questioning.
Bacon told police “he was tired of his brother and sister-in-law arguing/ fussing with the children.” Two children were at the home when Bacon killed the two.
The children stood behind Bacon as he opened fire on their parents, police said.
“Bacon stated he emptied a 9mm handgun of ammo on his brother and sister-in-law,” according to Officer Wesley Hicks’ citation narrative.
Police discovered David and Brittany dead inside the home. Bacon shared the home with the couple, police said.
Hicks wrote Bacon stated “he was sorry for what he done.”
Bacon remains in the Barren County Detention Center on a $5 million bond. He is scheduled to be in Barren Circuit Court Jan. 10, 2022, at 1 p.m. The docket details a pretrial conference is planned.
