In the 1970’s, Kentucky went to a unified court system and required counties to provide a space to hold court.
Now, fast-forward to the 2000s, federal money was made available to the states for the construction of judicial centers.
These projects are sought after as they typically pump millions of dollars into communities.
Barren County was granted one of these projects after much work was done locally and in Frankfort and is estimated to come in at around $32 million.
The AOC is on the hook for the annual bond payment out right, they will also make the utility payments, maintenance and upkeep, but some of these costs could be reimbursements.
