Susan Marie (McCartney) Hagan

Susan Marie (McCartney) Hagan, 72, of Tompkinsville, KY passed away Thursday, July 29th, at her home.  Susan was born in Fort Wayne, IN on October 23, 1948, a daughter of the late Marjorie (Grinstaff) and Harold McCartney.  On May 17, 1998, she married Jerald Hagan in Celina, TN.  She was a member of Glasgow Bible Church. She had previously worked for the CDC Department of Commerce and Red Kapp. She was in the first battalion that allowed women to serve in the US Army.

Susan is  survived by her husband, Jerald Hagan, of Tompkinsville, KY; a son, Christopher Mabry, of Cookeville, TN;  two stepdaughters, Jessica  Dawn Woods, of Columbus, IN and Victoria Tinney, of Byrdstown, TN; six grandchildren, Ashley and Ethan Mabry, Dillon Nentrup, Justice Woods, Adrian Perkins and Bailey Carter. Susan is also survived by two sisters, Bonnie Reed, of LaGrange, GA;  Sandy Stafford, of Cookeville, TN and a brother, Bobby McCartney, of Crossville, TN.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, August 1st at Yokley Trible Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, KY, with cremation to follow. Visitation is Saturday, July 31, from 4-8 PM, and Sunday morning after 10:00 AM until service time at 2:00 PM at Yokley Trible Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Susan’s memory may be made to the Old Mt. Herman Cemetery.
