Mary Ann Walters age 86 of Bonnieville passed away Thursday afternoon at her home with her family by her side. She was the daughter of the late George Thomas and Annie Belle England, and the wife of the late Kenneth Walters. Through the years Mary Ann was employed by several Hart County businesses including the Hart Restaurant in Munfordville. As her children entered school she worked as a classroom aid at Munfordville Elementary School, the Hart County News and then worked as a clerk at Clark’s Drugstore in Munfordville. In later years, Mary Ann volunteered at Bonnieville Elementary School where she was known by students as “Mammaw”. She was a member of the Bonnieville Methodist Church.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by one daughter- Anna Giselle Walters
One granddaughter- Sarah Elizabeth Walters
Five brothers- Joe, Burnice, Herman, Charles, and Hubert England.
Two sisters- Lucy Meador, and Fannie Singleton
Mary Ann is survived by her two daughters- Tresa Short & hus. Todd of Bonnieville, Wanda Hatfield & hus. Roger of Cub Run
Two sons- Kenny Walters & wife Janice of Murfreesboro TN, Eric Walters & friend Joann of Cub Run
11 Grandchildren- Corey, Ethan, Emilie, Lori, Seth, Valerie, Jennifer, Nathan, Eli, Jared, and Jacob.
20 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services for Mary Ann Walters will be held at 2pm Sunday, July 25th in the chapel of Sego Funeral Home with Bro. Glenn Routt officiating. Burial will be in the Memory Park Cemetery in Bonnieville. Visitation will be Saturday from 3pm to 8pm, and after 9am Sunday at the Sego Funeral Home until time for services. The family request that memorial contributions be given to the Gideons, or to the ARK organization of Hart County, these donations may be left at the funeral home.
