Virgil Clifford Amos

Virgil Clifford Amos age 71 passed away Thursday, Sept. 17 at Norton Palliative Care in Louisville surrounded by his caregiver and nephew William “Billy” Caswell and his wife Doana.

Born Nov. 21, 1948 to Andrew Ray Amos and Ritchie McCubbin Amos.  He was married to Bessie Amos for many years before she was called home.

In addition to his parents and wife, Clifford was preceded in death by his sister Lena Mae, brothers Lawrence Ray, Nathan Anderson and Andrew Paul Amos.

He is survived by his sisters Linda Kay White of Columbus, GA, Virginia Ann “Ginny” Austin (Jim) of LaGrange, and Lois Jane Bullock of Hopkinsville;  his brothers George James Amos (Lori Ann) of Lilburn, GA and Ronald Edward Amos (Nancy) of Gallatin, TN, two aunts Mary Eunice Hatfield of Upton and Frances McCubbin of Louisville along with cousins, nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life service will be 1:30pm Sunday, September 20 in the chapel of Sego Funeral Home with burial in the Memory Park Cemetery.  Visitation will be Saturday from 4-8pm and after 9am Sunday at the Sego Funeral Home.  The family request that memorial contributions be given to Hospice.
