Jane Stevenson Broyles, Bowling Green

Jane Stevenson Broyles, 81, of Bowling Green entered into rest on Tuesday, June 16, 2026.

Jane was born September 12, 1944, in Springfield (Robertson County) TN. She was preceded in death by her parents Harry Lee and Robert E. Stevenson and her husband of 48 years, Tommy David Broyles. Jane was a retired elementary teacher and librarian, having taught for 28 years at T.C. Cherry Elementary School in the Bowling Green City School District. She also taught at the Jones-Jaggers Laboratory School at Western Kentucky University. Jane graduated from Russellville High School in 1962 and from Western Kentucky University in 1967 with an M.A. degree in Elementary Education. Her first teaching position was at T.C. Cherry Elementary School in the fall of 1967 as a third-grade teacher. Jane was a Methodist and a member of Rockfield United Methodist Church where she was the organist and a member of the choir. She was a long-time member of Delta Kappa Gamma International Society for Key Women Educators.

Survivors include one brother-in-law Jehu “Jay” Broyles (Joyce) of Knoxville, TN, two nephews Jeff (Valerie) Broyles and Scott (the late Ginny) Broyles of Knoxville, TN, two great nephews Nicholas Broyles and William Broyles and great niece Natalie Broyles. Also, two first cousins Jim Richards (Annette) and Jody Richards (Neva), all of Bowling Green and a number of loving cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held at J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Monday, June 22nd. Funeral Services will begin at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Russellville, KY. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Rockfield United Methodist Church, The Salvation Army, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or the donor’s choice. Services have been entrusted with J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel.
