Michael Joseph “Joey” Turner, 59, of Gamaliel, KY passed away Wednesday, June 10th, at TJ Samson Hospital, in Glasgow, KY.
Michael was born in Tompkinsville, KY on May 8, 1967, a son of Homer Decalis Turner and the late Doris Lee (Birge) Turner. Michael was of the Baptist faith. He worked as a welder, a concrete worker, and a farmer. Along with his father, Homer Turner, Michael is survived by a son, Sammie Joe Turner and companion, Serena Scher, along with their daughter Diamond Scher, of Tompkinsville, KY. Michael is also survived by two sisters, Lisa Woods, of Fountain Run, KY and Debbie Witty, of Tompkinsville, KY. Along with his mother, Doris Turner, Michael was preceded in death by his three brothers, Johnny, David, and Donnie Turner.
A graveside service and interment will take place at 3:00 PM on Thursday, June 11, at Rocky Hill Cemetery in the Bugtussle Community of Monroe County, KY. Bro. Gary Emberton will be officiating the service. No visitation will take place at the funeral home.
