Mary Ann Stone, age 82, of Bowling Green, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2026.
Born to the late John Beasley Stone and Mildred Hightower Stone, Mary Ann was also preceded in death by her brother, Roger Stone. She lived a life marked by dedication, kindness, and quiet faith.
Mary Ann devoted much of her professional life to education, serving as a teacher at Western Kentucky University in the College of Education. She took great pride in shaping the lives of her students and was respected for her commitment to learning and mentorship.
Outside of her career, Mary Ann found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved spending time outdoors, especially fishing and camping, where she appreciated the peace and beauty of nature. Her faith was central to her life; she loved Jesus deeply and was a devoted member of Highland Baptist Church.
She is survived by her nephew, Christopher Stone; her nieces, Mary Francis Violet Stone and Sandy HuffWhite (Tommy White); her great-nieces, Carrie Stone and Ashland Violet; and her great-nephew, Roger Brandon Stone. She will be remembered fondly by her family and all who knew her.
Mary Ann’s life was one of service, faith, and love, and her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Saturday, May 9, 2026 with a funeral service conducted at 11 a.m. all at the J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel. Burial will follow in Highland Baptist Church Cemetery.
