Kathryn Ammons Souders, 74, of Brownsville, passed away April 27, 2026, at Shanti Niketan Hospice House in Glasgow.
The Breckinridge Co. native was a homemaker and a Baptist. She was a daughter of the late Johnny Ammons and Nannie Ammons and the wife of the late Paul Souders. She was preceded in death by five brothers, Will Ammons, Kenny Ammons, Billy Ammons, Jerry Ammons, and Roger Ammons; a sister, Sylvia Ammons; a grandson, Timothy Mattingly; and a granddaughter, Brittany Goldsmith.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday at Sweeden Cemetery.
Surviving are a daughter, Melissa Goldsmith (Stinson) of Brownsville; three sons, Jason Mattingly (Tonya) and Troy Mattingly both of Magnolia and Gary Mattingly of Horse Cave; two sisters, Ruby Creson (Charles) and Sue Farmer (Wayne); a brother, Paul Ammons (Jane); seven grandchildren, Heather Brown (Chris) of Glasgow, Chris Goldsmith (Emily) of Elizabethtown, Dylan Goldsmith (Nicole) and Tiffany Whitlow (Steven) both of Greensburg, Kevin Mattingly (Kabra) of Magnolia, Lori Sexton (Joey) of Linwood and Crystal Mattingly of Webster; 13 great grandchildren, Tristen Mabe (Jacob), Thomas Bottoms, Carleigh Huff, Logan Goldsmith, Emma Goldsmith, Jade Goldsmith, Evelyn Goldsmith, Theo Mattingly, Taylor Whitlow, Silas Whitlow, Chandon Sexton, Makennah Sexton and Elias Sexton; two great great grandchildren, Wrenleigh Mabe and Bexleigh Mabe; a special friend, Sam Mattingly and her fur baby, Mika.
