Margaret Helen (Soards) Isenberg, 91, of Gamaliel, KY, passed away Friday, April 17th, at NHC Health Care in Glasgow, KY.
Helen was born in Mt. Herman, KY on August 28, 1934, a daughter of the late Reva Ruth Burks and William Hester Soards.
On November 2, 1951, she married Truman Isenberg in Glasgow, KY. Shortly after their marriage, Truman was drafted into the United States Army, and together they lived in San Antonio, TX, and Denver, CO, during his service. Following his time in the military, Truman attended trade school in Indiana before the couple returned to Gamaliel and made it their home, and raised their children. Helen worked at the National Store and Sewing Factory in Gamaliel before running Advance T.V. with her husband, Truman. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, reading, collecting cookbooks, and trying new recipes. She was a member of Dry Fork Church of Christ.
Helen is survived by two daughters, Linda Hunt, of Lamb, KY; Marcia Leigh Isenberg, of Glasgow, KY; two sons, Jimmy Isenberg and wife, Joleen, of Glasgow, KY, and Tony Isenberg, of Bowling Green, KY; 7 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Other than her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Diane Copas, and sons-in-law, Freddie Hunt and Ricky Copas.
Visitation is Monday, 4-8 p.m., and Tuesday, 9:00 a.m. until service time at 12 noon at Yokley Trible Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, April 21st at Yokley Trible Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, KY, with burial to follow at Isenberg Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Helen’s memory may be made to Isenberg Cemetery.
