David Ray Fields, Edmonton

Apr 13, 2026 | 9:18 AM

David Ray Fields, age 51, of Edmonton, KY, departed this life peacefully on April 9, 2026, at the Medical Center in Bowling Green. He was born on May 27, 1974, in Glasgow, KY, to the late Donald Fields and Joyce Fields Reece, who survives.

David was a member of Grace Union Missionary Baptist Church, where he was saved in 1985 and later baptized that same year by the late Bro. Larry Noe. He was an avid University of Kentucky basketball fan, as well as a Tennessee Titans football fan. He loved sports; however, David also enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, and spending time outdoors.

David was a simple man who will be remembered for his joyful spirit and infectious laughter. He found joy in conversation, in laughter, and in making sure everyone around him felt welcome. Always positive and full of life, he was known as “Daddy” to his boys, a son to his mother, a brother to his siblings, and a friend to many. His legacy of finding joy in the simple things in life will continue to live on in our hearts. Though he may be gone from our sight and greatly missed, he will never be forgotten.

In addition to his loving mother, he is survived by two children, whom he lovingly referred to as “my boys”: Nathan Fields (Heather) and Nick Fields (Taylor), both of Edmonton; several grandchildren; two brothers, Brian Fields (Shannon) of Edmonton and Derrick Fields (Heather) of Greensburg; one sister, Angela Jessie of Edmonton; his stepfather, Garfield Reece of Edmonton; and his beloved dog, “Willie”. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his grandparents Jackie and Dollie Nash and Leonard and Martha Fields, two uncles Jeffrey Nash and James Fields (Janet) and an aunt Eunice Nash.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday April 13, 2026, at Jessie-Wilson Funeral Home in Edmonton, KY, with burial to follow in New Liberty Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday April 12, 2026, from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and will continue on Monday morning after 8:00 AM until time of service at Jessie-Wilson Funeral Home.
