Glasgow used a big sixth inning to beat Hart County, 5-2, on Friday. It was the Lady Scotties’ first home game of the season, and first win.
The Lady Raiders led 1-0 headed into the bottom of the sixth inning when the Lady Scotties turned the tide. It started with Reece England drawing a walk to lead off. Gracie Walker followed with a single, and England moved to second. Kerrigan Hagan loaded the bases with a single.
Then after an out, Jakylie Green drove in England and Walker with a double. Paige De Haas drove in Hagan with a single. Raygan Wyatt entered to run for De Haas, and she stole second to put runners at first and second.
That set up Kinley Stephens who hit a two-out grounder that was misplayed. Green and Wyatt scored when Stephens safely reached first.
Hart County got back a run with one out in the top of the seventh, but a fly out to Hagan in the circle ended the game shortly thereafter.
Hagan went the distance in the circle. She struck out five, walked two and allowed eight hits.
De Haas led Glasgow at the plate with a pair of hits. Green had the double, and Walker and NaTaya Lightfoot each had a hit in the game.
The Lady Scotties return to action Tuesday at Monroe County at 5:30 p.m.
