Two games played and Jakylie Green has hit two home runs. Unfortunately for Glasgow, both games have been lost.

Green’s two-run homer in the sixth Thursday at Cumberland County did give the Lady Scotties a shot at winning on the road.

Gracie Walker led off the top of the sixth and drew a walk. After an out, Kayla Kirkpatrick hit to short, but Walker was thrown out at second. Green followed Kirkpatrick and hit a homer to center field that tied the game, 3-3.

Then in the top of the seventh, Glasgow threatened again. NaTaya Lightfoot singled to lead off the inning, then moved to second on a single by Kinley Stephens. The Lady Scotties loaded the bases when Ayvah Maxey reached base on an error.

The Lady Panthers turned a double play to quell the threat, and a strike out ended the top half of the inning.

Cumberland County scored the winning run in the bottom of the seventh, and the Lady Scotties fell 4-3.

Lightfoot led at the plate with two hits, while Green drove in two runs with the homer. Stephens, Paige De Haas, Kerrigan Hagan and Kirkpatrick each also had a hit.

Maxey went the distance in the circle. She allowed six hits, struck out five and walked two.
