Barren County rallied in the top of the sixth inning Thursday night in Tompkinsville to beat Monroe County, 7-3.

The Trojans fell behind 3-2 in the bottom of the fourth. They threatened a rally in the top of the fifth with runners at second and third, but could not get the game-tying run across the plate.

The Falcons went 3-up, 3-down in the bottom of the fifth, which left the door open for Barren.

In the top of the sixth, Cameron Crawford was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning. Crawford moved to second on a sacrifice by Price Thompson. Bracy Faught followed at the plate and drove in Crawford with a single. Crawford had moved to third on a wild pitch during Faught’s at-bat.

Landon Uhles next drew a walk. Then he and Faught each moved up a base on a ground out by Jax Vincent.

Cash McGuire came to the plate and hit a line drive to left field that was misplayed. Both Faught and Uhles scored to give the Trojans a 5-3 lead.

Barren added two more runs in the top of the seventh for insurance.

Colten Wilson, Joseph Zelek and Uhles combined on the mound to allow four hits. They also struck out six and walked six. Uhles pitched the final three innings and allowed no hits and no walks.

Seven different players had at least one hit for the Trojans — Vincent, McGuire, Crawford, Thompson, Faught, Zelek and Jaxon Pierce.

Barren bolstered its scoring efforts with nine stolen bases, led by McGuire and Jordan Harris, each with two.
