Ropyr Levi Cottrell, infant son of Gauge and Harley King Cottrell, was born at 9:20 AM, weighing 6 lbs 15 oz and 19.5 inches long, on Monday, February 2, 2026, and went to the arms of Jesus on Friday, March 13, 2026, at his home.
Ropyr loved cuddling with his mom and dad, baths, and listening to Tyler Childers’ music while being rocked in his swing. He also loved watching Blaze and Blue’s Clues with his daddy.
He is survived by his loving parents; his maternal grandparents, Sara and Alan Morgan, Brandon and Elizabeth King; his paternal grandmother, Genia Fields Cottrell; his aunts and uncles, Jacob, Natalie, Aaron, and Landon Morgan, Kinsley and Colton King, Morgan Sexton and her husband Jake, Calib Cottrell and his wife Jaylyn; his cousins, Warren Cottrell, Jayden, Mia, and Dawson Sexton; maternal great-grandparents, Betty Sue and Wilson King, Tammy and Greg Morgan; paternal great-grandmother, Linda Cottrell.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Darren Cottrell; paternal great-grandfather, Gordon Cottrell; paternal great-grandparents, William and Imogene Fields; and a maternal great-grandmother, Thelema Stephens.
The family will welcome friends from 4:00- 8:00 PM CT on Monday, March 16, 2026, and again from 9:00 AM- 1:00 PM CT on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at Brooks Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM CT on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, in the chapel of Brooks Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Leesville Cemetery in Upton.
