Kermit Dubree, 82, of Tompkinsville, KY passed away Sunday, March 8th, while in the company of family, at Med Center Health of Bowling Green.
Kermit was born in Metcalfe County, KY on September 28, 1943, a son of the late Ruby (Bartley) and John Barlow Dubree.
Kermit married Barbara Shaw, his lifelong companion of 61 years, on September 26, 1964.
Kermit worked as a plumber in both Barren and Monroe County. He loved to farm, work in the garden, and above all, spend time with his family.
Along with his wife, Barbara Shaw Dubree, Kermit is survived by a daughter, Kim, wife of Randy Matthews, of Glasgow, KY; and a son, Kenny Dubree, husband of Jennifer of Tompkinsville, KY.
He is also survived by three granddaughters, Jessica Arnett and Brad of Bowling Green, KY, Joshlyn Dubree and Morgan of Bowling Green, KY, and Haley Lyons and Hade of Tompkinsville, KY. Kermit is also survived by four great grandchildren, Kasen and Amelia Arnett and Felix and Harlow Lyons.
Kermit has one surviving sister, Linda Faye Jones, of Glasgow, KY and one surviving brother and sister-in-law, Shelby and Doris Shaw of Louisville, Mississippi, and several nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, Kermit was preceded in death by a great granddaughter, Karoline Arnett. Kermit was also preceded in death by four brothers, Benny, John, David, and James Dubree and two sisters Myrtle Dubree and Sue Wheat. He was also preceded in death by three half-brothers, Wallace, Marshall, and Carl Dubree and two half-sisters, Melba Campbell and Frances Chloe Birge.
Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, March 13th at Yokley Trible Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, KY with Michael Mcpherson and Mark Williams officiating.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, March 12th and 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Friday, March 13th at Yokley Trible Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, KY.
Burial will follow at Monroe County Memorial Lawn.
