The Barren County Fiscal Court has shifted its schedule this week, moving from a canceled regular meeting to a special-called session that will be online Thursday.
Magistrates will convene via Zoom on Thursday, at 9 a.m. in Glasgow after calling off its regular meeting that had been planned for Tuesday. The agenda for the special meeting is focused on routine county business.
Magistrates are expected to review and approve minutes from the fiscal court’s February 17, 2026, meeting. They are also scheduled to consider payment of claims as presented to the court, approve transfers of county funds and act on personnel actions. Court members will take up appointments to various county boards and councils, according to the agenda.
The fiscal court is also slated to review annual training incentive letters from the Department of Local Government, which typically relate to state-recognized training and education benchmarks for local officials. In addition, the agenda includes a resolution that would authorize a 2026 Law Enforcement Protection Program grant application. That program generally provides assistance for law enforcement-related needs, though specific local uses were not detailed in the meeting notice.
