Eddie Louis Cherry, Scottsville

Eddie Louis Cherry, 77, of Scottsville, passed away Friday, January 2, 2026 at his residence. He was born in Glasgow, KY to the late Grady Louis Cherry and Clarine B. Vaughn Cherry. He was a retired employee of Dollar General where he worked for 38 years, an avid coon hunter, devoted Dale Earnhardt fan and a Christian.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years: Sandy Cherry, Scottsville, KY; son: Eddie Wayne Cherry, Scottsville, KY; daughters: Kim Pedigo and husband, Michael, Scottsville, KY; LaDonna Thomas and husband, Doug, Gregory, MI; 11 grandchildren: A special granddaughter: Lauren Elizabeth McDuffee (Eli), Dylan Chandler, Stacy Pedigo (April), Steven Pedigo (Crystal), Payton Goupil, Taylor Goupil, Tyler Cherry (Megan), Courtney Pope (Connor), Victoria Cherry, Gage Cherry and Lena Cherry;

He was preceded in death by a sister: Judy Beal; four brothers: Donnie Reed Cherry, Freddy Lee Cherry, Ronnie Joe Cherry and Lonnie Cherry; a son-in-law: Ron Goupil.

There will be no visitation or funeral service. Cremation was chosen, and Goad Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Hosparus. Donations may be made at Goad Funeral Home. The family would like to say a special thank you to Dr. Michael Lang for his many years of care and compassion and Hosparus nurses, Sandy and Beth, for their care during Eddie’s final days.
