The Glasgow man accused of murder requested a preliminary hearing during his Barren County District Court appearance on Tuesday, Dec. 30.

Judge Gabe Pendleton set his next court date for Jan. 5 at 1 p.m. He also said he would take Haley’s $750,000 cash bond under advisement.

Haley’s murder charge stems from the events of Dec. 26 wherein Justin Satterly, 32, was allegedly shot in the back after he “busted the door down,” coming into a residence on Frazier Avenue in Glasgow and “trying to attack Braxton [and his sister],” according to a uniform citation that was in Haley’s court file. Satterly was transported to T.J. Samson Community Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Haley’s sister told Glasgow police that he had shot Satterly because he feared for his life, according to the citation.

Haley is charged with murder and is currently lodged in the Barren County Detention Center.
