Three people went to the hospital after a two-vehicle collision in Glasgow on Saturday, Dec. 27.

Failing to see a red light, Bertie Martin, who was driving a 2001 Cadillac, hit a 2020 Nissan Armada, operated by Philip Peters, at the intersection of West Main Street and S.L. Rogers Wells Boulevard, a Glasgow Police Department press release stated. Martin was traveling westbound on West Main Street and Peters was traveling southbound on the boulevard at the time of the collision, the release stated.

“The impact caused the Nissan Armada to overturn,” the release stated. “The Cadillac continued through the intersection coming to a final rest after striking the guardrail.”

Martin was taken to T.J. Samson Community Hospital by a private vehicle while Peters and a juvenile passenger were taken to the hospital by Barren-Metcalfe EMS, according to the release.

The collision was investigated by Officer Alex Mutter, assisted by the Barren-Metcalfe EMS and the Glasgow Fire department.
