Glasgow scored early and often en route to a 56-0 win over Webster County in the first round of the Class 3A football playoffs on Friday.
Jaylen Bradley opened the scoring for the Scotties with a one-yard touchdown run with 8:17 left in the first quarter. Jared Malagon added the extra point kick.
Two and a half minutes later, Bradley scored again with a 35-yard punt return. The extra point attempt failed and Glasgow led 13-0.
Bradley posted his third touchdown of the first quarter on another punt return, this time from 62 yards. Malagon nailed the extra point. Glasgow led 20-0 with 2:27 left in the first period.
Jerrick Martin posted Glasgow’s fourth touchdown in the game with a two-yard run 56 seconds into the second quarter. Hudson Gumm threw to Bradley for the two-point conversion and the Scotties led 28-0.
Three minutes later, Gumm threw a 49-yard touchdown pass to Jeremiah Moore. Malagon’s PAT gave Glasgow a 35-0 lead with 8:09 left in the first half.
The Scotties scored once more in the first half when Cam Bulle ran 27 yards to the end zone. Malagon’s kick gave Glasgow a 42-0 lead with 2:57 left in the second quarter.
Glasgow’s special teams continued to cook to open the second half. Keyshawn Austin returned the kick off 78 yards to the end zone. The two-point try failed and the Scotties led 48-0.
The Scotties’ defense got into the scoring act when Drake Reeves recovered a fumble and returned it 34 yards to the end zone. Trace England ran in the two-point conversion and Glasgow led 56 to zero with 8:23 left in the third period.
Gumm was 4-4 passing for 77 yards.
Bulle led the Scotties on the ground with 73 yards on six runs, while Trace Barbour rushed for 22 yards, and Peyton Lemily ran for 19.
Jeremiah Moore led the Scotties in receiving with 49 yards, while Bradley had a 13-yard reception, and Jerrick Martin finished with 11 yards receiving.
The 11-0 Scotties host Union County next Friday at 7 p.m. in the second round of the playoffs.
