The former R.R. Donnelley building has new owners.

Daniel Kennedy, chief executive officer of Tate, signed the deed on Nov. 4 for $17.5 million, according to the special warranty deed filed in the Barren County Clerk’s Office. The former owner, Contemporary Amperex Technology Kentucky, put the roughly 211-acres property up for sale in August, where it was originally listed for $33 million, which was then lowered to $27 million.

Though teased at during the Industry Awards Banquet, Governor Andy Beshear officially announced Tate’s decision to locate in Glasgow and thereby creating 400 full-time jobs on Oct. 15. Shortly thereafter Glasgow city council members approved the issuance of $75 million in Industrial Revenue Bonds.

Chief Executive Officer and President of the Barren County Economic Authority Maureen Carpenter previously said the company plans to start hiring in 2026, commenting that this “is a very big asset to our city.”

Tate is a subsidiary of Irish listed company Kingspan Group PLC, and specializes in raised floor, structural ceilings, and data center containment, according to its company website.

The property is more well known locally as the former R.R. Donnelley and Sons building, which was a large printing company that opened its Glasgow facility in the early 1970s.
