The last hurdle for FiveStar was cleared at the July 21 Joint City-County Planning Commission meeting.
The 13 commissioners unanimously approved a final development plan for the convenience store submitted by Newcomb Oil. It will be located at the intersection of West Main Street — New Bowling Green Road — and the Veterans Outer Loop, next to Donnelley Drive.
Planning Director Kevin Myatt said there will be one entrance on West Main Street that will require approval from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, which they have received, 41 parking spaces and shoebox lighting.
The new convenience store will be located on 4.43 acres. Newcomb Oil is based in Bardstown and currently operates more than 90 FiveStar convenience stores across Kentucky, Indiana and Tennessee.
