The Park City Commission will convene on March 3 at 6 p.m. at City Hall to discuss a range of new business items, including a proposal for TextMyGov, updates on upcoming events, and a discussion regarding the Mammoth Cave Railroad Tribute park.
Among the key topics on the agenda is the potential adoption of TextMyGov, a platform designed to streamline communication between residents and city officials through text messaging. The commission will evaluate the service’s benefits and costs before deciding on its implementation.
Commissioners also plan to hear discussions on both the Highland Games and the Bigfoot Festival. Both events have garnered much attention from locals and visitors, particularly the Highland Games, which were originally planned for 2024, but were postponed to better plan for the event.
The Park City Volunteer Fire Department officers will provide updates, and the commission will review two resolutions — Resolution No. 2-25 and Resolution No. 3-25. The nature of these resolutions has not been disclosed in the agenda. A discussion on the railroad monument will round out the new business section, potentially addressing maintenance, preservation, or future plans for the historic site.
Reports from city officials will also be presented, covering administrative updates from Mayor Larry Poteet and updates from commissioners overseeing maintenance, planning and zoning, law enforcement, fire services, and community sites such as the senior center and Bells Tavern.
The meeting is open to the public and will take place in the conference room at Park City Hall at 41 Mammoth Cave Ave.
